Dragon

LIL’ Dragons (Ages 5-7)

We offer a specialized program for our youngest students. Starting at age 5, our Lil’ Dragons students focus on fundamental skills they will need for Junior and Senior Kindergarten. We help them develop coordination and confidence. Our program will help reinforce listening skills, sharing and good sportsmanship. We also teach them basic self-defense techniques and stranger danger awareness.

Today, there is a lack of activities that teach specific skills beneficial to a young child’s future. This program is designed to help each and every child develop in a positive manner while giving them skills that will help them in school, around the house, with friends and of course in situations where they have to stand up for themselves.

Our Little Dragon program is the perfect choice for your preschool child. Your child will have fun while learning a wide variety of skills all within a safe and exciting environment. Unlike other children's activities, Lil’ Dragons get a perfect blend of fun and learning. We provide a one-of-a-kind choice for parents who wish to make sure that their child's future is one filled with confidence and success, as well as an exciting and healthy adventure along the way.

We teach and instill basic developmental skills that will show up in many aspects of life such as: showing proper manners, how to look someone in the eyes, shake their hand and give a polite greeting, improved listening skills, longer periods of focus and attention span, self control of one's actions and attitudes, learning to participate in group activities and getting along well with others. It's no magic pill and it doesn't happen in one class. However, for many parents, our program is the perfect alliance and is one of the most valued investments for their child..

The Lil’ Dragons classes are 30 minutes in length and are offered 3 times per week.

Youth (ages 7/8 and Up)

Youth

At Morrison Family Karate we are very concerned with the well being and education of our children. We understand that younger students have a shorter attention span. Our unique children's program uses interesting and enjoyable methods to keep the student's attention and teach our young students skills that they can use for life. We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict.

This program is well rounded touching on all the things that a person of this age could want to hear and see.

All of the students focus on goal setting, showing respect, and keeping a positive mental attitude toward their everyday activities. The Youth Program is based on evasive self-defense and protection techniques. We help them develop the confidence needed to stand up for themselves in serious situations.

More than any other sport, our program gives children the chance to explore their innate powers. They will see increases in strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination and that is only the start. Physical skills act as a foundation for the development of life skills.

Other important subjects that are worked on in every class of our Youth Program:

Goal Setting - Setting goals is the "road map" of life. It has been said that "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail." On the road towards a Black Belt, our students gain the experience and motivation for success by earning progressively higher belt ranks. Success is the reward for goal setting.

Self-Defense - Our Youth students learn effective self-defense skills and control techniques. We teach about appropriate attitudes when using those tools. The basic attitudes of a successful martial artist, and a successful person, are confidence, respect, discipline, goal setting and effective leadership.

Black Belt excellence - Our goal for every student is to help them earn their Black Belt not only in martial arts, but in life! By working toward this goal we create an environment in which individuals develop confidence by accomplishing realistic and attainable goals.

Martial arts training helps build good kids into great kids by increasing their self esteem, teaching them to work toward goals, and learning respect for themselves and for others. Your children learn in a safe, supervised environment and our instructors will keep your kids motivated and interested while they're learning skills that can last a lifetime. Our class curriculum is full of fun, exciting activities and character development lessons that teach and encourage students to:

As adults, we need to reduce our stress factor daily. Our adult students look forward to leaving their troubles at the door and enjoying a high-energy, positively focused workout each class.

Staying with a workout is what everyone finds so tough, particularly without a coach or trainer. We offer our teen and adult students a dynamic step-by-step workout coached by an instructor at every class you attend.

At Morrison Family Karate we have worked hard to develop a curriculum that will keep you interested, increase your health and fitness level, reduce your weight and body fat, and reduce stress.

Our program is a total fitness package combining strength, endurance and flexibility. We give you excellent cardio conditioning, expanding your heart and lung's capacity while you burn off calories. The result is a tremendous increase in energy, giving you what you need to last all day long.

Our core curriculum includes high-energy drills designed to build self-control and self-discipline. Through positive coaching we instill confidence and develop skills in relationship building, personal development, as well as building your personal knowledge in maintaining your personal health and fitness.
